Most people who buy Powertec Racks have owned a rack before and know what they want. They've often felt that their present rack denies them satisfaction by being less solid and stable than they'd like....and their lifts are getting bigger.
The Powertec Power Rack has a reputation in major markets for having a feel about it which gives users extra pleasure and commitment. It's the difference between 95 kg weight, and, say 60 kg or less; of higher-quality corner reinforcing, steel thickness, rubber padding on the safeties so as to protect their bars, and finish. And if you can't find pleasure in using this stuff, for many it isn't worth it.
Powertec racks have passed the heavy-duty European Union's EN-957 standards certification, which means it meets EU safety, documentation standards, and the maker's performance claims. We're not aware of anything else that has this locally.
The Powertec rack is more expensive than some racks, but to users, many of whom are second-time-around, it's far more solid and stable than anything else anywhere near its price. It also has many add-on options which make it even better, such as a height extender, a multi-grip chin up bar (which replace the well-designed standard chin up handles), a Landmine Attachment (which greatly expands what you can do with weights and a barbell) and plate storage horns. Heavy duty dip bars are standard, as are chin up bars.
Lat Tower Option
The most formidable option is the Lat Tower. Unlike any others (that we're aware of in this country, at least) this does not simply hook onto, and mechanically depend upon, a rack. (And the rack is often not sturdy) While it's attached to the rack for stability, it supports itself with substantial weight and structure, (alone, it's heavier than many racks) and provides dual carriers for smoothness and loads that surpass many commercial gym offerings. Variable-height knee rollers lock you in, and a footplate provides stability for the trainer. And of course it offers a great pull-downs and rows and a wide variety of other compound and isolation movements, with a great pull-down stretch for taller trainers. Load is 180 kg.
Videos below give you a view of what can be done with the Power Rack and Lat Tower Option. Note the extra space needed for the Lat Tower. A picture shows the relative dimensions. Note that this quote doesn't include weight plates, bench, bar or any options. It's for the rack and Lat Tower Option. Present stock is industrial yellow. The Lat Tower Option is always black.
These videos give a good idea of the Power Rack's and Lat Tower Option's capability.
